The Cowshed was built by it’s previous owners whom have now moved on but not before they made a fabulous job of starting this amazing space off.

All we want for our space at The Cowshed is for it’s guests to enjoy being here, connect with the outdoors & leave feeling relaxed & rejuvenated. We have found their happy place amongst the hills of Waikino & we hope that our guests will too.

We’re a pretty laid back couple. You’ll find us out in the paddocks playing with horses, pet cows, dogs or building something from nothing! We’ve definitely had to shape up when it comes to ironing but we’re pushing and amazing ourselves everyday.

Our place at The Cowshed has full wheelchair access, a full sized wet room master ensuite bathroom attached to the master king room, a separate toilet with two extra beautifully rustic style showers close by, a gorgeous second king bedroom (we can add a single bed to this too!) and twin outdoor baths. A large courtyard area with outdoor seating, games and fire pit, is a great place to unwind after a day on the road or out doing activities!

There’s plenty to do in our area if you’re into activities - The Hauraki Rail trail is only a three minute drive and we have bike storage at The Cowshed. The Karangahake gorge has a range of different walks, some short and flat and others long and hilly!

For the foodies - The Cowshed has its own full sized kitchen with everything you’d find at home. Eating out in our area - We have some really beautiful places to eat including The Falls Retreat in Waikino, Thai Lemon Grass Restaurant in Waihi, Tutto Tea’s and gifts - a gorgeous little tea & coffee shop in Waihi Town & in Waihi Beach there’s a beautiful boutique cafe called White Rabbit with all home made goodies - This place comes highly recommended by us! Waihi Beach restaurants include Flat White and the Surf Shack.
